SoccerExpo has signed Timothy Otieno, the most decorated striker of his age. Currently playing for Tusker Football Club, Otieno already has three Kenyan Premier League titles under his belt – two of those won while still a youngster with Gor Mahia FC in 2014 and 2015.
Fresh out of high school at Ambira High, Timothy started out n 2014 with second tier club with FC Talanta. He didn’t stay long however, being quickly snapped up by Gor Mahia FC. His first leg tally of nine goals for Talanta was unmatched; six months after leaving Talanta, Timothy was awarded the Golden Boot at the close of the season.
Otieno’s spell with Kenyan champions Gor Mahia saw him win two league titles before being loaned out in the 2016 season to Posta Rangers. His star shone with the mailmen, he was named the league’s Player of the Month for February 2016.
The Golden Boot has been a part of Timothy’s footballing journey since childhood. While still in school at Ambira High school, he bagged 12 goals to emerge top scorer for the Copa Coca Cola Nyanza Province’s select team.
Otieno has played beyond our borders on club duty and in the colours of the National Ream. He was part of Gor Mahia’s silver accolade winning team in the 2015 CECAFA Kagame Cup, held in Dar Es Salaam, capital of Tanzania, and played two years later in 2017, achieving first place in the SportPesa Cup, also played in Dar Es Salaam.
Timothy has played for the junior ranks of the national team and currently gets call-ups with the Senior Team. His last outing for Kenya’s national team Harambee Stars was a trip to India, where Kenya played the hosts, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) and New Zealand, scoring against Taiwan.
