Professional Experience
Wellington started his youth career in Kisumu, appearing in the Kisumu Youth Football Association for two local teams: Amani FC and Urusi FC.
Soon after Wellington joined KYOC, where he kicked off his professional career by playing for the team in FKF‘s Third Division of Kenya’s Nationwide League.
Wellington then joined Agrochemicals FC, another Third Division team, where he became captain.
His efforts and success were noticed by Muhoroni Youth, one of Kenya’s Premier League teams. Wellington joined the team, most specifically to improve his game. The move paid off, as perennial champions Gor Mahia FC recruited him away from Muhoroni.
Wellington now plays for Gor Mahia FC, where as well as being Right back he is also Assistant Captain.
2007-2009
Two seasons at Urusi FC, Kisumu Youth Football Association League, Kenya. Won two Under 16 titles with Urusi.
2009-2013
Four seasons at Kisumu Youth Olympic Centre (KYOC), in Third Division, Kenya. KYOC promoted from the Provincial League to the Nationwide league in 2012.
2013-2015
Two seasons at Agrochemicals FC, in Third Division, Kenya. “Man of the Match” in a GOtv cup game vc West Kenya Sugar
2015-2016
One season at Muhoroni Youth FC, in Premier League, Kenya. Won the KPL Top 8 title.
2016 to present
Three seasons at Gor Mahia in Premier League, Kenya. Won two League titles, two SportPesa Cup titles, two Community Shield titles.
